Balumpa Wakatobi dance is a traditional dance from the Indonesian
province of South East Sulawesi. Balumpa dance is a dance that originated from
the district of Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi, particularly in the area
Binongko. Balumpa dance is a welcome dance performed to welcome guests in an
important occasions and big as sail Wakatobi, Indonesia sail or sail bunaken,
etc.
Balumpa Wakatobi dance tells the story of a group of pretty girls
who were singing the song as a folk music using stringed musical instrument
that is usually accompanied sang the song. Pull this dance by 6-8 people, in
pairs, male and female dancers and there are also displayed by the female
dancers alone. The beauty of this dance when the dancers embodied this balumpa
sing with a sincere heart and understand the meaning of the movement is done.
