Sekapur Sirih dance, Jambi



Important people who travel to the land of Jambi, surely lucky to be presented with a gentle dance movements and subtle collaborated with music and great lyrics. The dance is Sekapur Sirih dance. This dance is a dance of welcome to guests of the Jambi Province.
This dance describes the open feeling of the people who owned Jambi to guests who visit their area. Total dancers in this are 9 female dancers and 3 male dancers. Among the twelve dancers of the person in charge of holding an umbrella, two bodyguards, and the rest dancing.
Swing motion, high worship, wing span, ornate (installing rings, bracelets, earrings, lipstick and powder and calak), swivel motion half, full turn to be a part of this dance. The motion carried in a lower-level position and is being played while the flooring pattern adapted to the needs and staging area. If done in the building or indoor flooring patterns can be done, but if the outside of the building or outdoor floor pattern is rarely done.
Cerano or container containing betel leaf, umbrella, kris is a property that is used in this dance. For clothing, the dancers wear traditional braces Jambi. Kaffir Lime humming folk songs and the sound of violins and accordions berlanggam wither and accompanied by harps, gongs, and drums accompany the dance this helped.
