TALEMPONG

Talempong is a typical musical instrument Minangkabau, North Sumatra. The shape is almost the same as the gamelan of Java. Talempong be made ​​of brass, some are made ​​of wood and stone, this time talempong of brass which is more widely used. This Talempong circular holes on the bottom while the top there is a prominent roundabout five centimeters in diameter as the scales (different).

The sound produced from a pair of wood struck on surface. Talempong usually used to accompany dance typical dishes, Pasambahan dance, and dance wave. Talempong also used to welcome special guests.
