Hudoq Dance



Hudoq original dance art from East Kalimantan that is very thick Dayak tribe life. This dance is usually performed during the rice planting season arrives. With the aim of obtaining the power to overcome the destructive pests and say your prayers for the crops that can be abundant.

       By using a mask made
​​of wood that has a long nose and use clothes from leaves, Hudoq dancing accompanied typical Dayak music. Typically this activity is done in the middle of a large field, which included dozens of dancers Hudoq.

         This dance movement also has a special meaning, like the twist to the left which means throwing shit, while turning to the right taking the best. Not to forget the heel stomping and shaking hands like a bird, the movement means that repel pests do not attack rice.
