SALUANG

 Saluang is a musical instrument typical Minangkabau of West Sumatra. This musical instrument made of bamboo gutters are bamboo or bamboo gutter to gutter clothesline found drifting in the river. Both types of materials corresponding private saluang Minangkabau people believed as the best materials. Saluang length of approximately 40-60 cm, with a diameter of 3-4 cm.
How to play saluang is by blowing, but with special training saluang players can play saluang with blown and when breathing. So that the sound can be played taluang from beginning to end without a break. Songs from saluang even this has its own characteristics of different regions / villages that exist in Minangkabau.
Saluang the hallmark of which is the hallmark of Singgalang, Pariaman, Solok Salayo, Koto Tuo, Suayan and Pauah. That said blower saluang yore had spells / incantations special function will hypnotize the audience. Spells Pitunang is called David.
